My name comes from penggulung, it means roller in Malay, bear in mind, I'm super friendly but I will roll in self-defence. I have no teeth but a sticky long tongue helps me gather ants, my favourite food! Yes, I am the only mammal wholly coated in scales, they protect me as well. Unfortunately, my scales are in high demand for Chinese medicine because of the rich keratin content. That is why we are the most trafficked mammal in the world.

between 2011-2013, a staggering 116,990-233,980 pangolins were seized and that is only 10% of the real trade volume.
